Start the Conversation

One of the most effective strategies parents can use in preventing their kid(s) from starting to use alcohol, marijuana, tobacco or other drugs is to talk with them early and often.

Studies show that parents are the number one influence on whether or not their child uses alcohol or other drugs before the age of 21. Start the conversation about substance misuse early and keep the lines of communication open throughout childhood and teen years.

Marijuana Talk Kit

The Marijuana Talk Kit by the Partnership to End Addiction is just one of the trusted resources that can help get that communication started (and not just about marijuana- the ideas and information can also be used to discuss other substances and risky behaviors). More trusted resources can be found here.
